the project searches for the historical, geographical and cultural roots of the strait between calabria and sicily and draws on its main characteristics, currents and winds to bring to life a new form of cultural production for both regions and their identities. three different “giant buoys”, as anchors of culture, are carried and hosted by the waves and winds of the strait. inside them, cultural activities, shows and exhibitions take place. each capsule is wrapped in a shell of recycled steel and recycled plastic panels, alternating with photovoltaic panels. a visionary project that combines a cultural mission with an ecological mission. a cultural mission aimed at enhancing two regions rich in history and art, and an ecological mission that reclaims the waters of the strait as an added value.
