sprung up e house

the house is set within a mountain landscape overlooking lake maggiore, blending into the surroundings and participating in them. a merging of the built and the natural environment.
the base is embedded in the ground, integrates itself, and determines the direction of the cantilever.
supported by a v-shaped structure with a long overhang toward the lake and the valley. beneath it, an open covered outdoor space is created, defined by the swimming pool integrated into the morphology. its perspective allows a unique image to emerge between the reflection on the surface of its water and that of the lake.
the design is about the strong relationship between exterior and interior. an incorporation of nature and visual connections. to generate a balance with the site, new relationships with the surrounding rocky landscape are established through the material of concrete. the different surfaces, bush-hammered and smooth concrete, alternate in a kind of material play. the bush-hammered surface, with its roughness, recalls the stone, part of the region, while the smooth exposed concrete forms a strong contrast and makes the volume appear as if carved into the rock. the concrete carries the atmosphere from outside to inside and amplifies the effect of materiality throughout. in contrast, the lightness of the railing, with its curved, descending lines, interrupts the horizontality of the building and creates a new play of forms.
