interwoven musical pavilion
schloss weißenbrunn’s music pavilion is set within its historical Baroque garden, a new venue for openair performances, especially of classical music, designed for cultural events and with capacity for a large audience. this sound object that transforms the entire location into a kind of stage is lightweight and raised above the lawn thanks to a large shadow gap. painted in a silky matt white, the vaulted structure is created by interwoven tubular elements that form a grid made up of lozenge shapes. like a theatre backdrop, it adds a finishing touch to the baroque garden’s longitudinal axis, yet allows the gaze to pass through it, morphing into a kind of sound sculpture, a focal point that blends into the historical garden with innate poise.
